The only thing I've come across is a summary of a Russian symposium that mentioned research indicating calcium mobilization from bone might be related, and that low calcium diets, especially low calcium high phosphorus diets, might be connected by increasing bone resorption. It seemed like the evidence was pretty limited. Chris

I haven't read anything about floaters in the eyes recently. From what I remember reading a couple of years ago, people with myopia (near sightedness) are more prone to floaters and elevated blood pressure may increase the risk of getting floaters. Apparently small amounts of blood can leak into the eye and can indicate the beginnings of a detached retina (which is also more common with myopia). My vision is about 20/40, so I am slightly near sighted. My floaters don't seem quite as bad as they used to be, but I still have enough of them to be a little annoying. They are easiest to see against a bright background. I remember seeing them as a child, but only a few back then. An ophthalmologist once told me many years ago that high fevers can cause them. I had very high fever with the measles as a child. I've read that some people have had a gradual improvement over time with floaters as they change to a better diet, so I'm still hoping. I think kombucha was one of the things that was supposed to help, but I'm not sure why it would be beneficial.
