Guest guest
Lynn, I am so sorry you're having such a rough time. You've got to find a sympathetic doctor who will let you try b/c pills for a 6-month period! If you really feel they were helping you (and not harming you in other ways), you need to stay on them for long enough to know for sure! Right now, it sounds like you're definitely suffering from estrogen withdrawal. BTW, overweight women store ESTRONE in greater amounts than thin women. Estrone is a much weaker form of estrogen than estradiol. Hang in there! Love, Suzy __________________________________________________

I am thinking that the backache/burning tongue may be a reaction to the type of progestin in the Alesse I was one. I have asked and asked for Modicon/Ovcon/Brevicon but right now---the Alesse company has the free samples well stocked at ALL the doctor's offices and since the pharmacuticals run the show----Alesse is what I was offered and given at 3 different places!! Alesse uses Levenorgestrel as it's progestin. When I looked up that progestin alone (without the estrogen) it says back pain as a side effect. The tongue could be becuase b/c pills reduce B vitamins. Anyway---I started having my period today so I can't see the doctor but I want to try ONE MORE time with my MD. He is the one that I get the most out of. I want him to do a culture on my vaginal discharge and urine for the uncommon bacteria's like enterococcus which can also cause cervicitis (which I do have and no one can figure out why) as well as cystitis symptoms. Then if that is all clear---a try on the modicon/brevicon pills. I felt soooo much better on the pills except for the back and tonuge.
