Guest guest
Chris Good point. I am not aware of any major studies comparing the food- grade fructose and lab-made HFCS, other than small ones promoting the health benefits of food like honey (not in comparison)..let me cite 3.. http://www.liebertonline.com/doi/abs/10.1089/109662003322233549? cookieSet=1 & journalCode=jmf http://www.foodnavigator.com/news/ng.asp?id=59482-honey-and-calcium http://www.news.uiuc.edu/scitips/02/0408honey.html To give credence to to the benefits of honey, as in this example, we know manuka honey and in general, honey is considered anti-bacterial and so forth, and good for wound healing etc. So it seems this food- grade fructose & a bunch of Flavonoids (pinocembrin, pinostrobin),disaccharides, oligosaccharides, enzymes, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals put together does a lot of help, especially if it is not processed. You could say/show that kind of benefits with some anti-oxidant fruits too like berries, Pom, Cherries, Acai, Goji etc. But isn't HFCS always processed? Can HFCS produce or be shown to have, in any study, that any small amounts,if any, of health benefits of the food-based fructose in foods mentioned above.? Just like many can attest to the benefits of raw milk over processed ones etc. & vice versa.. Yes,i take your point that there may not be in-depth evidence, like in a controlled study, yet, to prove much in terms of the different effects of fructose, be it in whole foods or in isolated forms, in comparison, scientifically studied. So consider my statements only anecdotal, where I have experienced much benefits from Berries and raw honey especially, and i appreciate the fructose in these foods (along with the other elements) doing good for me, and I do use them only moderately, realizing the sugar content of these foods. Also you had a good point about God being the one who made the man who makes and prepares all foods- from kefir to HFCS and anything in between them; and honey being neither a plant or an animal , but a different category-perhaps a food of an insect. It is well taken. Thanks Tom for your comments too Regards Vijay O Lord, how manifold are thy works! In wisdom thou hast made them all; the earth is full of thy riches. Guest guest
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. Typing just doesn't carry voice inflection well. BTW, I did stuff myself and get fat then and it didn't work out so well. LOL! > > I think stuffing yourself and getting fat would be much more > appropriate to pregnancy and lactation. Notwithstanding the humor, I hope I did not offend anyone, it was not my intention. I don't think this should be about ego (who does the most googling, researching, etc. etc.), about being " right " . I write from my own experience, firsthand. My pillars of healthy lifestyle are 1) experience and experimentation on my own body 2) research and analysis 3) common sense Your experience with your body and health WILL be your own and unique, and different from mine or anyone elses, or from any causality studies or books etc. All that said, if you want your comfy food at night, by any means take it, without feeling guilty. Warm milk and honey are a working sleeping aid, and beat artificial medications. And living the longest or healthiest forever need not be goals to pursue, as they become self-serving and in effect may cause their own issues in the denial of other primary needs. Thus, my statement and advice shall also be taken with a major grain of salt. (There you have it: a carby late-night snack with salt!). :-) Peace, Boris
