Guest guest
This is a very nice site, just discovered by me (but possibly known to many already). Not only do they do a wide and varied selection of the standard organic meats, but they also do a selection of economic cuts like brisket etc etc, all the nice long cooking cuts that taste so good in a casserole; bags of bones for stock; and finally they do bags of raw meat and bones for dogs. I'm sure most people have a supplier already but thought that its useful info to have just to compare. I gave them a good chat about sally fallon's book and so forth - I talked to a lady called kate who knows about RMB for pets. I said that I would pass their info around online - if you ring in, say you got the info from edella - my feeling is that, if they know a large group of people are being informed, they might inform us in turn of special prices etc. My son and I are going to buy a beef buttock between us (lol!) - about 35 kilos of various cuts for£175 which works out to about half the price of buying the cuts separately - about £6 + a kilo, which is the price of their economical brisket. Delivery is free if you are local to them, and also free on deliveries over £150. I have spoken to scottish colin the butcher as well (hence their organic haggis lol!) and he says they do other goodies as well like " mutton " - (really very mature lambs) at the end of spring, chickens that actually have the innards inside bagged up, and oxtails as well, depending on how many cows have hit the dust. They are happy to chat over the order etc and will ring back if something isn't available. They have open days (the next one is 01 june) and have a shop open then with many books and so forth. She is going to order a copy of nourishing traditions, so that may well join their list The website is (http://www.sheepdroveshop.com/index.html <http://www.sheepdroveshop.com/index.html> ) and well worth a look if you can get past the bl**dy loud birdsong on the front page lol! regards from edella, and excuse the repetitions if we share the same groups, as I am spreading the word around a bit.
