Guest guest
There are handheld trunking scanners. Radio-Shack makes the Pro-92 and Pro-94, Uniden has the 235 and the 245 covering Motorola type I and II and Edacs. --- And for those of you that are digital trunked and are happy not to be scanned, it's bubble bursting time: (from http://www.uniden.com/press/FCC_digital_Scanners_9-16-02.pdf ) FORT WORTH, Texas, September 16, 2002 – Uniden America Corporation today announced that the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) granted certification approval for the company's digital capable scanners, the Bearcat® BC250D _handheld_ and the BC785D base/mobile scanner, on August 22, 2002 (FCC ID:AMWUB316, covering both scanners). Uniden America Corporation unveiled its new digital scanner line at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January of 2002. --- I started listening to scanners before I got my job here. I feel becuase I did, I picked up the radio and signals quicker. I lend my scanner to any trainee that would like to listen to our Sheriff's office on their time to better themselves. Used properly, I feel there is nothing wrong with them. But then again, anything NOT used properly can cause problems. ~ > The only " Trunking Scanners " I have seen so far are desktop models and it doesn't take that much to convert one to work in a vehicle. Guest guest
Wouldn't a good response be to do back ground checks on all police scanner users?
