Guest guest
I have used lysine, 2000mg, for some time for cold sores. It always helps out. However, the absolute best product that I have ever found is DMSO, as suggested by Trudeau! This stops the forming of the blister in it's tracks. As a matter of course at the first tingle, I immediately apply the DMSO, take 2000mg lysine and then apply heat (as hot as I can stand it for 5 min.). The last time I had one coming on, I did this and the spot never made a blister, it just went away. It was a blessing and I would be amiss if I did not share. -B Kathy Dickson <kathy.dickson@...> wrote: Of course, I'm not scientific, but I keep a tube of lysine in my purse. If I even feel the swelling that precedes a cold sore, I apply it. I've also had great success with a homeopathic remedy complex for cold sores. Its just called Cold Sores. Kathy I googled and found that the cold sore virus, herpes simplex, apparently thrives on arginine and is inhibited by lysine (both are proteins), though I'm not sure this has been confirmed by scientific testing. It just so happens that yogurt and cheese have a high lysine to arginine ratio.
