I just had a meeting at s school that was not pleasent. I told

them about how he isnt benefitting from the ABA as this stemmed from

his calling the teacher " green " . My criticism is, that they dont

address the real issue they just want to " drill " what they see as the

correct information into their heads. He isnt doing well with any of

his drill programs which are repetitions of stuff he learned years

ago, like knowing when someone is happy or sad, etc. When I asked them

to bring him to me to show he knows it, they refused. They refused to

look at the stuff he does at home, stuff he writes, artwork etc. His

teacher initially told me he does really well when they take him to

the other class where he gets group as opposed to indv instruction,

and that he was doing " phenomenally " well there, much different than

his regular class (where the kids are not as high functioning). The

supervisor was trying to tell me that he is doing good there, but,

theyre not sure what he's learning from it. The end result is, that

we all agree somehow that not get ABA and will be meeting with

the district next week and will have a new placement, most likely

public school, where he will have access to other types of children

even if he's in a special class and no ABA.
