Guest guest
Hello, Since I was asking about the Twin Lab CLO I just thought I would share what I found out from Twin lab about their CLO, whatcha all think? Here is her response to my questions below. Thank you for your inquiry. The cod goes through a cooking and pressing process of the fish which is less than 95 degrees celsius. This leads to a physical separation of oil and water with centrifuges (proteins are removed). This leads to crude oil. Then neutralization occurs at 96 degrees celsius in which sodium hydroxide is added and free fatty acids are removed. The next process is a purification process which occurs at 110 degrees celsius in which a proprietary blend of absorbants are added and any organic contaminants or heavy metals are removed. The next process is called winterization which occurs between 0 and 10 degrees for 3 hours. The saturated fats are then removed. The product then goes through a molecular distillation and deodorization process which removes PCB's, dioxins, and volatile organic materials. Antioxidants are added to the refined, purified, and deodorized cod liver oil. The oil is now ready to be put into bottles and sold. We do not add synthetic vitamins to our fish oils. The vitamins are natural to the oil. Good Health to You!! Allyson, Consumer Affairs, Twinlab
