Guest guest
Weston Price Foundation used to recommend Carlson's but changed their recommendation. Carlson's is removing the natural Vit D and A and substituting it with synthetic apparently due to toxicity concerns (which to me makes no sense as synthetic is way more toxic than natural). This may explain Dr. Mercola's reaction to it. On the other hand, although I know for a fact that a friend advised him of this change, he continues to sell Carlson's on his website. To give him credit, he may be investigating before making a decision. From the WAP website: " As of June 2007, we recommend the following brands of cod liver oil: In Stores: Garden of Life, regular dose cod liver oil Online/Mail Order: Dr. Ron's High Vitamin Old Fashioned Blue Ice Pure Cod Liver Oil, 1- 877-472-8701, drrons.com Radiant Life, Premier High Vitamin Cod Liver Oil, (888) 593-8333, 4radiantlife.com Blue Ice, High Vitamin Cod Liver Oil, (402) 338-5551, greenpasture.org In Europe , Healthspan Ltd., 0800 73 123 77, healthspan.co.uk In Australia : Green Pasture Australia, greenpastures.com.au Green Pasture Products, The Nourishing Cafe, edie@... Melrose cod liver oil, email: geoff@... Some of the brands recommended in various articles on our website we no longer endorse because the manufacturer is removing vitamin A out of concerns of toxicity. Warning : Many brands of cod liver oil are processed to remove all the vitamins A and D and then have synthetic vitamins A and D added back in. These products should be completely avoided as the synthetic versions of A and D are toxic. Guest guest
When I saw your post, I called Carlson, again. They claim that the CLO contains natural vitamins, and wanted to know where I heard the rumor. They even put carotenes in their multis instead of chemical A so that they are compatible with the CLO. Here is the customer service link http://www.carlsonlabs.com/contactus.phtml I didn't tell them where I heard the rumor, but I may reconsider that action. I would hate to think that Fallon and Mercola are defaming other companies just to give their cronies a leg up. I would also hate that I am just blind to the issue, but not only can we not afford fancy CLO, but the 4 year old insists on lemon flavored.
