Guest guest
Hi Anyone with experience of taking a new-born (month or two or so) on a flight. The doctors reco is 6 weeks, but they feel still there is no guarentee that the child may not catch an infection. It is for my frineds who need to travel back to china (long trip!) with their new-born which is a week old now. They want to plan their trip, and asked me for any input. I thought I will check with the group, of anyone with the knowledge or experience. Does WAPF have any info on this. What are the issues with an infant for travel, especially long one. Does the mother's milk(colostrum?) keep the baby from infections? The mom is committed to eating well during this time(avoiding sugar, fast foods etc). They will be grateful for any info. Thanks much -Dan.
Guest guest
The mother's milk should be very protective. The baby probably will come out of it healthier than the adults as long as she is able to nurse at will. Guest guest
Its really tough to travel with a child this young and your body is still recovering from childbirth. The main issue is infection your exposing both of you to a lot of germs when your immune system is still somewhat comprimised. Nursing can help the ear discomfort on the plane. Try to make as direct a flight as possible and make sure you can rest with someone to care for the infant when you get to the destination.
