Guest guest
Dear & All, Death or Second Line: (When are we going to denounce " AIDS denialism " in India???) Re: /message/7882 The laidback community of Indian PLHIV wheel is not easy to move, due to 1000+ reason, but it can be moved and its moving at the pace that frustrate all of us, whose priority is everyone gets the best possible treatment. We are very difficult to provoke people this is also our frustrating nature, but you continued to provoke atleast few of us time and again and that's inspiring, but many can't be inspired because we are inspired by our donors (not community) or our day to day livehood issues are more important and is true. Its been a year since we take the road in demand of 2ndline tx, we have debate in various e-forum, there are few study/research paper on feasibility of 2nd line in India, we send letter and fax to NACO and PM of India, President of India, yet not a single PLHIV get second line meds from the govt. run ART Clinic and people who needs increase day by day and whose life is at stake.. But quite a handful of people are continuously working on it make 2nd line available free of cost at govt. center, be it lobbying India to join UNITAID, opposing patent application, learning and dealing with pharma on pricing issues, 2nd line tx. became every state level network of PLHIV priority agenda now as the odd agency in India who provide limited 2ndline in India can cater to just a handful of few luckiest people. Our pace is slow and frustrating & very embarrassing as well but I believe the community focus is getting narrow and narrow day by day. I don't care whether UNITAID or CHAI offer, whether we have the ideal infrastructure, if we have GFATM surplus money or BUT the day the national body of Indian PLHIV community-INP+ takes up this issues on a war footing note, it will be different, I bet, we will see a positive impact - that will saves life. The day is not far... I believe & pray. Not able to access drugs made by our own country pharma co. I believe people began to hate living in this country (India). It will soon explode, on your mark NACO.... Keep inspiring ........ We don't want luck; we want our rights to life, period. Guest guest
Dear all, Re: /message/7882 I think it is time PLHAS join their fight with all those who are not able to access medicines produced in India:those with HIV, malaria, TB, cancer (at least treatable), malnutrition – food is the most the medicine produced in India in large amount but many cannot afford—etc.. They all face the problem. Other wise HIV “exceptionalism” will back fire and will lead to a white color epidemic like many health conomists were afraid initially. I know this mail may make me unpopular in this forum but……. Dr Ajith e-mail: <ajisudha@...>
