Guest guest
I was trying to think of an alternative to cold cereal for breakfast. Something easy to snack on on the go, breadish but with whole grains, no MSG, and WAP-ish. I had a brainstorm today - croutons! Cut a loaf of homemade sourdough whole grain bread that's a few days old and getting too dry to be appealing anymore into cubes, melt butter, add herbs and salt, toss with the bread cubes and toast in the oven for 45 min, stirring frequently. Voila! A breakfast food the kids will love (because it tastes more like salty snack foods). And it has the fat (butter) in it that makes it filling and a good lasting source of energy. Ha! And NO SUGAR, but they like it anyways!
