Guest guest
That seems to be the root of the whole vaccination craze. It has become so inconvenient to be human that most people will do anything possible to avoid it. The major issue is it isn't just with fatal diseases or those which have long-term effects like paralysis - it is with things like chickenpox which is pretty much harmless although unpleasant. Chickenpox causes kids to miss school, parents to have to go to the doctor and either take off or hire a sitter - how tragic! Personally, I *like* running a fever occasionally. It doesn't happen often, but a slightly raised temp does wonders to kill off pathogens - including those which are dormant in your gut and not currently making you sick. I also don't mind having the occasional break from work because I'm coughing, sneezing, itchy, or otherwise inconvenienced by a germ. The only thing about sickness I really can't stand is vomiting/dry heaving/nausea - but sipping on yogurt all day long does wonders keeping that in check. IMHO, when sick you should enjoy taking it easy for a day or two while your body gets stronger and more able to fend off pathogens in the future. But then again, that brings up the slave-driving tendencies of most profit-driven American corporations... and the fear mongering which comes along with them. -Lana, who is a little tired of the concept that human beings are supposed to be robots. > Don't know about you but I hate being sick. Instilling fear in us about getting sick spells big profits for them. Ann Marie
