hi patricia ann,

have you lost weight? are you getting enough calories? As important as it is to

be eating

healthy food, it is just as important to be eating enough of it.

I am and have been dealing with much the same issues for some time now. For me

it has been just a case of experimenting with diet and supplements. I think I

have been making progress.

I will tell you what I have been doing but it will have to be your decision for

which ones you will try on your own. And I am sure that others will chime in

with suggestions.

For the adrenal problem, after talking to the walls in various Doctor's offices

meaning no help there, I settled on 25 grams of 7 Keto DHEA in the morning and

100 mgs of PS Neuro [phosphatidylserine] before bed. [ just this week I didn't

take them for about 3 days to see how much I had improved and it was alot, but I

think at least 2 more months will be needed]

For the cold, cayenne pepper on everything I eat, except fruits...it seems to

improve circulation.

Thyroid is tough and personal and almost all doctors depend on test results

rather than how you are feeling so this is where diet comes in. That too is

personal. To start, I went mostly vegetarian for a while while making sure I

cut out all gluten containing foods, including oats and most dairy and all sugar

and salt. Truthfully, I haven't had much in the way of grains except rice and

gluten free cereals. The only dairy I have been doing is butter [hormone free],

the only protein, eggs and fish. I actually had to low the amount of thyroid

meds I was taking... go figure..

I eat organic when I can get and afford it. I hope to add more meats later, I

really love good steaks, but for some reason, my body says no to red meat right

now.

I don't spare the fats, with butter, olive oil, and " heaven help me " mayonaise,

but do try to eat at least half of the veggies raw.

I have only lost 8 lbs on this diet change... really need to loose a lot but

right now I can't exercise...but my cholesterol levels did real well.

Trigs were 151 now 124 [<150]

Cho Total was 206 now 162 [124-200]

HDL was 34 now 35 [> or = 40] needs improvement

LDL was 142 now 102 [< 130]

This has all been a rocky road, and in some ways I am feeling better and in

other way horrible, but I think its because my body is detoxing. I have learned

alot on this forum and believe me when I tell you that I am on a lot of them and

this one is the best for information. The others are more concerned with

recipes to replace the foods that aren't good for you anyway. The thyroid

groups are pretty much pushing armour thyroid on everyone and aren't too

concerned with diet and I think what you eat is the key.

I have already stopped High blood pressure meds and rarely need anything for

indigestion. My headaches are mostly gone. And many other symptoms I have been

dealing with are easing up.

It is definitely not an overnight success story, but I am determined this time

to get off as much of the meds as I can... I started this about 8 weeks ago. I

just recently started CLO because of the info I gleaned from this group. I

chose the low vita A Carlson's in capsule form, 5 per day, cause the store I was

at didn't have liquid. I am personally wary of high dose of Vita A.

Good luck and start listening to what your body is telling you. As you

progress, the listening gets easier...

Thyroid, Raynauds, Fatigue, Dizziness, Adrenals

I have been in a state of total fatigue and dizziness with a little nausea

for the last month.I am also always cold with freezing hands and feet (I

sleep with two nightgowns on and 5 blankets). I cannot seem to handle any

stress so I suspect adrenal issues are part of the picture. Unexpected noise

makes me jump and scream.Constipation is also part of the picture and has

been for years.

I am seeking your advice for what kind of medical and dietary treatments I

should look into.

I would like to be under the care of a medical doctor that won't fight the

eating of healthy foods. I'd prefer to treat these conditions with food more

than drugs, if possible.

If you know of articles on the web or books that deal with this and are NT

friendly, I'd love to read on this.

I'm especially looking for doctor recommendations, I live on Long Island in

New York.

Thanks for any ideas,

Ann

i have been where you are. i don't know if i had extensive thyroid problems, but

i did have some that were related to the adrenal problems. i had a hair test

done through my chiropractor and i never went to any other doctors but i did get

some advice from a couple of naturopaths i met on one of these online groups.

these are the things i did for about 2 1/2 years, and i still do some of them,

but i am a whole different person these days and it is amazing how far i have

come:

*every morning place a pinch of sea salt on my tongue and salt all of my water

*i was taking a few Standard Process supplements, but i can't recall the names

at the moment

*large doses of CLO amd BO

*liver caps from Dr. Ron's

*B-complex is very important!! i took a combination of www.qnlabs.com Stress B

complex, and " futurebiotics " stress assist which i found at my local health food

store. this product is amazing!

*large theraputic doses of coconut oil---at one point i was eating 1/2 c. in a

smoothie every day

*lots of egg yolks (6-12 a day) and raw milk (at least a quart)

*lots of vitamin C --should help with constipation as will magnesium

*lots of magnesium--like 700mg spread throughout the day

*cut out all grains

*concentrate on FATS--at least 80% of diet

*i am now also taking skate liver oil which has more vitamin D than CLO--vitamin

D is also very important!

i also have Raynaud's and i am still trying to figure out how to deal with it.

cutting out the grains has helped some. upping the fats significantly has also

helped.

Dear ,

I'm eating plenty, not overeating, but I'm gaining weight and losing lots of

hair which is why I suspect it's thyroid related.

Thank you for your concern,

Ann

Been there! This week I got more validation to what I did then. I

decided to get a few Bowen therapy treatments. Talking to the

therapist who said she is also gluten free came around to her son

finding he was hypokalemic and being prescribed a gluten free diet.

http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/sym/hypokalemia.htm

I'd taken potassium then because my symptoms matched nearly all

deficiency symptoms. Doctor didn't detect low potassium in the myriad

of tests.

Researching hypokalemia this week I've found that both potassium and

B5, pantothenic acid (that I've taken extra of with B complex for the

last few years for adrenal and allergy support)regulate aldosterone

production of the adrenals.

Potassium deficiency or sodium/potassium imbalance explains my colic

as a baby, why I had to cut back on salt with my first pregnancy

because of water retention, why my sea salt experiment coming here

resulted in water retention again and why eliminating the salt in

adrenal protocols worked.

Just presenting a possibility.
