Guest guest
The entire Department Manual (2000 edition) is online, indexed and searchable at http://www.lapdonline.org/dept_manual/index.htm But that's just one of many " manuals " ... There's a Tactical Manual, a Communications Manual, Timekeeping Manual, Detective Operations Manual, Juvenile Manual, Traffic Manual, DMV Information Request Manual, Uniform and Equipment Specification Manual, Product Evaluation Manual, Mental Evaluation Manual, Emergency Procedures Manual (for all city agencies), Teletype Operator's Manual, Jail Operations Manual, Homicide Manual, Emergency Operations Master Plan and Procedures Manual, Employee Selection Manual, and maybe a manual on all the manuals. Plus Special Orders, Administrative Orders and all the little procedure things that may pertain to just one division Why there's even a specific office, the " Manuals and Orders Unit, Procedures and Directives Section " in Management Services Division, that all they do is publish and keep many of those manuals current. Most of the manuals are three-ring bound, with each page dated, so whenever there's a change they send everybody the updated pages with specific instructions on replacing the old with the new. Bureaucracy at its finest. Harry Re: Officer needs " Help " or " Assistance " I wasn't aware that the P.D .manual is on-line. You figure that all that type of stuff would be classified now-a-days.
