Guest guest
Dear all, A few weeks back a Govt.Hospital shut doors on an AIDS patient. Now on Friday 13.07.07.a senior medical officer DR.MITTAL was bashed by a senior official, of his own hospital-Surojit Ganguly, all because he wanted to admit a HIV seropositive on ART. Dr.Mittal was injured and admitted at ICCU with multiple bruises and accelerating hypertension. ALL THIS HAPPENED IN THE MISSION OF MERCY HOSPITAL, PARK STREET, KOLKATA(PREVIOUSLY ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH). The HIV patient,50 year Swapan Mondal presented with severe respiratory distress,Hb% was low and needed Blood Tranfusion. Dr.Mittal was on the process of admitting the patient when DEPUTY ADMINISTRATOR SUROJIT GANGULY AND HIS DEPUTY SANTANU LAHIRI interfered and when Dr.Mittal was up against this this inhuman act when Mr.Ganguly and his associated hit Dr.Mittal repeatedly following which Dr.Mittal collapsed and was admitted in ICCU. Ganguly even threatened of dire consequences to Dr.Mittal. Incidentally the HIV patient Swapan Mondal is an ex -employee of the same hospital and served a long 22 years in this hospital. All the doctors in the hospital have rose against this and demanded immediate intervention, but to mere shock and disbelief nothing has been done as of yet by the Hospital Officials. They are in fact trying to cover up the whole issue. An FIR has been lodged with the Park St. Police Station. This is a matter of urgency and requires immediate attention and action by the collegues of same profession. This is yet another incident which depicted that the CITY of JOY is indeed merciless. I ask for review in this matter by the related Officials and request all to join hands in this issue. Hurt and ashamed of the issue and incident Dr.Quazi Toufique Ahmed e-mail: drtoufique@..., dr_toufique@...
