Guest guest
[sPAM] Natural/traditional way to seal wood floors? <<Is there a natural way to seal wood floors?>> This is why they varnished then edges and had carpets over the vulnerable areas. And " best rooms " that only were usedd for special events! <<I am pretty sure polyeurathane is really bad on a number of levels, but I know that wood floors cannot be left bare (especially with little kids and what they will do to them). >> You have to remember that bare wood floors (and woodwork) are a modern idea and only possible because of all the hard wearing new clear floor coverings. In olden times, you used homemade wax polishes on wall panelling and furniture (still a very good idea from the additive point of view) but painted or covered floors. The reason old houses have all those nice pine floors is because pine was a cheap softwood and was expected to be covered. If you were poor, you painted the floors. If I were worrying about making my house more natural, I think that I would use sisal rugs and so forth. Or look for the least lethal sounding polyeurathane. regards from edella Recent Activity a.. 17New Members Visit Your Group Meditation and Lovingkindness A Group to share and learn.
