Guest guest
Redmond Salt IS real sea salt! In the United States in the area of Utah there was once an inland sea which covered a very large area of land extending far beyong the present boundaries of the state of Utah. All that's left now of the sea is the great Salt Lake. But that's just the water... not the sea bed and shores which were and are rich with sea salt which has been covered over by earth. This is pure sea salt which has not been contaminated. I have been using it for may years. It is available over the internet and in health food stores as well as in many high end grocery stores. It isn't better than the other pure and properly handled sea salts I don't think. It's simply another good option from which to choose. Good info ! Thanks! Is it possible she has any neck/spinal misalignment issues? These accumulate with age and in older people they can be very severe at times. Even modest and highly reversible misalignments can cause increases in blood pressure. She may want to get examined by a chiropractor to see -- I personally would recommend a NUCCA chiropractor. They are few and far between but if you google " NUCCA " you'll come up with the web site and you can click through it to find a practioner in your area. There was a recent study that found one subtle NUCCA adjustment had the effect of two blood pressure meds combined in people with neck misalignment and high blood pressure. > any suggestions? her diet is pretty clean and has been for i would say > about 5 years. she mostly eats meat and veggies. Also, in healthy people given potassium-deficient diets, it also does. Some other minerals, especially magnesium, might lower blood pressure. So she might try reducing sallt and increase magnesium and potassium. Chris
Guest guest
here's an article by Dr. Cowan. http://www.westonaprice.org/askdoctor/high-bloodpressure.html > > hi all, > > my mother in law has been experiencing pain in her left arm during the > past week and her blood pressure was measured at 220/120. doc put her > on blood pressure meds and she is going in tomorrow for a work up to > check her heart. > > anyhow, she is very much into alternative medicine but was scared > enough by her blood pressure to go on meds, but wants to pursue > alternative healing routes as well. > > any suggestions? her diet is pretty clean and has been for i would say > about 5 years. she mostly eats meat and veggies. Guest guest
By the way, it is possible that eating a low-PUFA diet would help. The first attempt to induce essential fatty acid deficiency in a human was in a graduate student named Brown in the lab of Burr and Burr who discovered and named the EFAs. He ate a highly purified, rather abominable, diet for six months that had virtually no EFAs whatsoever (and not any significant fat either). Total saturation of his blood lipids went up, or put another way, unsaturation decreased by 25% (because his body was making SFA and MUFA from carbohydrate), and linoleic and arachidonic acids decreased 50%. He suffered no adverse symptoms, but his considerably high blood pressure normalized and his life-long problem with migraines disappeared. When he went back on a normal diet, the migraines never returned, but his blood pressure went back to being quite high. Chris
Guest guest
, I have become a huge believer in magnesium. That would be the first thing I'd have your MIL try. Read The Miracle of Magnesium by Dr. Carol Dean. She should use Magnesium Citrate (less irritating to the bowels) and basically take it to bowel tolerance initially. Within a few days of taking large doses of Mg I was able to get of heart medication that I'd been on for 25 years and avoid adding blood pressure meds. It truly is a " miracle " mineral. > > hi all, > > my mother in law has been experiencing pain in her left arm during the > past week and her blood pressure was measured at 220/120. doc put her > on blood pressure meds and she is going in tomorrow for a work up to > check her heart. > > anyhow, she is very much into alternative medicine but was scared > enough by her blood pressure to go on meds, but wants to pursue > alternative healing routes as well. > > any suggestions? her diet is pretty clean and has been for i would say > about 5 years. she mostly eats meat and veggies.
