Guest guest
For those of you who involved with acute inpatient, ICU, med/surg, or SNF, I have a few questions: 1. Do your PTs perform chest PT, including postural drainage and percussion? 2. Do you have a form for evaluation and/or treatment you would be willing to share with me? 3. Do you charge 97124 or 94667/94668 for this service? 4. Do you have any problems with the RT department regarding chest PT? We have so many patients who come in with pneumonia and the doc orders " PD and pecussion BID " or sometimes, TID or QID and the RT dept won't do it because " they don't have time " . PT dept is expected to do it because of a " good ole boy " agreement made about 20 years ago. According to our LCD " In most cases, postural drainage procedures and pulmonary exercises can be carried out safely and effectively by nursing personnel " . I was just wondering what the rest of the country was doing. Thanks for your input. Sherri Welch, PT Clinical Coordinator McAlester Regional Health Center McAlester, Oklahoma office fax swelch@...
