PCI applies innovative and integrated programs to address disease prevention; HIV/AIDS; reproductive health and family planning; water and sanitation; integrated food security; and safe motherhood and the well being of children. PCI helps to build local capacity and ensure long-lasting results by working collaboratively with communities, donors, governmental and nongovernmental organizations to identify, address, and solve health and development needs worldwide. PCI currently operates programs in Bolivia, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Indonesia, México, Nicaragua, the United States and Zambia. In 2007, PCI will also establish operations in Botswana and Malawi. Project Concern International/India (PCI/India) established its presence in India in 1997, and was registered as an Indian Charitable Society in 1998. PCI/India’s country office is located in New Delhi, and it has six regional offices around the country: Pune, Maharashtra; Salem and Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu; Jaipur, Rajasthan; Ranchi, Jharkhand; and Warangal, Andhra Pradesh. Today, PCI/India maintains a diverse portfolio where it currently works in the areas of integrated health and community development; HIV/AIDS; Street and Working Children; institutional capacity building; polio eradication; water & sanitation; and micro- enterprise. Programs focus on low-income, vulnerable populations, especially women of reproductive age and children. PCI currently manages the most extensive and comprehensive HIV community and home-based care in the country, delivering services to more than 6,000 people living with HIV/AIDS. 1. Description of Position Job Title: Associate Country Director/ Deputy Country Director, India PCI/India is looking for a committed and focused person for the position of Associate Country Director/ Deputy Country Director who will assist the Country Director in assuring the overall management of country program to provide leadership and spearhead PCI strategies in India. 2. Qualifications 15 years relevant work experience, preferably 5 years in the development sector Post graduate degree or above, such as MD, MBA, MPH, Ph.D Excellent oral and English writing skills Demonstrated program, human resource and financial management skills 3. Major responsibilities Manage the day to day aspects of country program operation including ensuring smooth operation of all offices. Ensure that program remains within the remit of their design, budget and propose and prepare any amendments. Oversee budget preparation, setting the parameters and process for all the programs Resource generation including donor cultivation, positioning of PCI/India for maximum success. Designing new program and preparing proposals and budget for those programs in coordination with the International Office (IO). Effective HR management of 300 plus staff including recruitment, induction and performance management and proper administration to ensure team work. Represent PCI to local, national and international donors, corporate and foundations Ensure fluid communication and close working relationship with senior management staff of PCI, collaborating organizations including donors and government entities. Define medium and long term PCI/India policy and develop strategies for India. Control and monitor country program budget of approximately $ 3.3 millions. Select, appraise, monitor and review partners’ programs for effective partnership management Management of donor-funding issues in coordination with Country Director and IO. 4.
