Guest guest
Hi everyone: My daughter who we recently discovered has a bunch of food allergies is now suffering with being outdoors, so I am guessing she is reacting to pollen, etc. Any advice as to how to keep her comfortable? Right now we are soothing her eyes with cotton balls dipped in tea. The boiron allergy kit doesn't seem to be helping with her symptoms except for the Apis remedy knocks out the itching on her hands if she has a reaction to other allergies. I will call our ND to see if there is a constitutional remedy that will help. I am also putting her on a strict SCD (specific carbohydrate diet) recommended by Dr. Natasha McBride (Gut and Physiology Syndrome) to try to heal her gut and rebuild her immune system. In the meatime, any advice to keep her comfortable without drugs would be great. We do not have central air, but I am wondering if a room air purifier would help. Thanks for any advice you may have. Guest guest
The poor thing! Vitamin C helps block or break down the histamine some but I think it needs to be in the 2 - 3 grams (gram is a thousand milligrams) range to even start to make a difference. There's a remedy for pollen allergies of eating a teaspoon of local honey a day but I think it may take a month or two to kick in. Still, it's a pleasant one! Good luck! > > Hi everyone: > My daughter who we recently discovered has a bunch of food allergies > is now suffering with being outdoors, so I am guessing she is reacting > to pollen, etc. Any advice as to how to keep her comfortable? Guest guest
I highly recommend you take her to see Steve Tonsager at Flowing Rivers Acupuncture in River Fals, WI. I don't have the number on me but if you google it, you'll find it. He has worked wonders on my family and me--with digestion, allergy issues, and many other health troubles. It is easy and pretty affordable. Good luck!
