Request for Information sharing by NACO on it's website

Dear Forum Members,

There is a lot of information about the National AIDS Control Programme, which

various stakeholders need to know. If you all feel that we need to have access

to have this information for better knowledge about the programme and its

progress, then may be we all can request NACO to make these informations

available on thier website :-

1. Annual Budget Allocation to AIDS Control Society, with component bifurcation.

2. Expenditure done by AIDS Control Society, with component bifurcation.

3. Funds received by AIDS Control Society.

4. Information on Targeted Intervention projects- Name of Partner, Work Area,

Target Group, Contact Information etc.

5. Details of AIDS Control Society staff - Name, Designation, Qualification,

Date of Appointment.

6. Details of post in AIDS Control Society that are vacant.

7. Vacancy announcements in AIDS Control Society.

8. Statistical data relating to Blood Banks, STD Clinics, VCCTC, OI, PEP, PPTCT,

ART, Community Care centres.

9. NGO Partner selection notifications for TIs, Community Care centres etc

Dear friends,

I strongly endorse this statement. We definitely need to have access to these

information not only for the sake of transparency, but implement the HIV/AIDS

programmes in the country more effectively.

Following points may be added as these are very relevant and important too:

(i) Involvement of CS at block, district and state level AIDS Control Societies

(ii) The process and level of CS involvement in SACS

(iii) The process of selection of NGO partners in TIs, Community Care Centres or

other programmes implemented in the states

(iv) Functioning of VCCTC

Dear forum,

I strongly concur.

I have always felt that the current website alignment is hopelessly inadequate

and needs to be more interactice. Despite requests through the contact link,

there is never any reply.

Any and all lobbies that would motivate the NACO webmaster to improve its output

would be greatly beneficial to many field workers and organisations.
