The Blue Ice CLO is deodorized, but supposedly has the original vitamin A and D added back in some how using a proprietary process.
Guest guest
There is an article on the WAPF website about all the clo's and how they are produced. It is very interesting and there are only 3 or 4 I think, that put the natural Vit. A and D back into it It also came out in one of the quarterly magazines last year or the year before. It has been awhile since I read it but it would answer quite a few of your questions on the manufacture of clo. Guest guest
Can you give us the specific link? My computer is slow and would be helpful to go right to it. Guest guest
The article was confusing. Does Dave Wetzel take out the A & D or not? Is it the best quality CLO or not? I have been using his CLO and want to make sure I'm getting the A & D I thought I was getting. Thanks, I really need this information. Guest guest
> The article was confusing. Does Dave Wetzel take out the A & D or not? Yes. The plant the processes his oil does this when processing out the undesirables. > Is it the best quality CLO or not? Yes, although I really like his fermented CLO a bit better mostly due to the lower PUFA content per unit of A and D. Both are the best CLO on the market, IMO. I have been using his CLO and want > to make sure I'm getting the A & D I thought I was getting. The amount is on the label. They are the natural forms and if he's correct in his article, then a lot ofother brands on the market contain synthetic forms. Guest guest
Thanks Suze, I really liked reading that article. Does anyone know if it is necessary to take butter oil if I eat raw butter daily? Guest guest
it probably depends on the quality of the raw butter and how much of it you eat. is it bright yellow spring butter? I stock up on this in the spring and freeze it. I eat about a pound/week so I've stopped taking the butter oil. If you are eating butter made in the winter, you may want to take the butter oil at that time of year. > > Thanks Suze, > I really liked reading that article. > > Does anyone know if it is necessary to take butter oil if I eat raw > butter daily? Guest guest
I just recently found a source of raw butter, so it is not from the spring or bright yellow. How long can you freeze butter for? Maybe I will stock up this spring. Thanks,Suzanne --- In , " carolyn_graff " <zgraff@...> wrote: > > it probably depends on the quality of the raw butter and how much of it you eat. is it bright > yellow spring butter? Guest guest
Just a side note- when freezing butter , make sure to keep it well sealed against the air. Nothing is more disappointing than a whole bunch of precious good fat, put away for later use that ends up tasting like whatever else is in the freezer! fats pick up flavors incredibly well. this can be wonderful or awful. katie --- In , " carolyn_graff " <zgraff@...> wrote: > > I freeze it for about a year. >
