Guest guest
Take P5P pyridoxal-5-phophate. A lot of people don't metabolize run-of-the-mill B6 that well, but P5P form of B6 works in those cases. It's a little bit more expensive but worth it. Have fun! From: nrscase <nrscase@...> Subject: Progesterone and B6 Date: Tuesday, August 5, 2008, 9:16 AM My husband and I are thinking about trying to conceive in the coming months. I chart and it appears that I have a marginal luteal phase (8- 10 days instead of 12-16 days). This is often caused by a progesterone deficiency. The treatments recommended are B6 supplementation and progesterone cream. I would like to start with the B6 supplementation. I currently drink raw milk but am not sure about other good sources. Can I just take a B6 vitamin? I prefer to get my nutrition from food but I also want to get this problem fixed as soon as possible - I'm not getting any younger :-)
Guest guest
We do nutritional yeast for extra b-6, but check the brand to make sure there's no synthetic vitamins added. IIRC folks do wild yam for progesterone, but I have no personal experience. If you chart, you should be able to check your cervical fluid for optimal fertility timing. Also, the main way that B6 probably helps, I suspect, is by increasing the synthesis of arachidonic acid from linoleic acid. Arachidonic acid is probably the most crtical pro-fertility nutrient for both men and women. The best sources are egg yolks and liver. Butter is decent, and other animal fats also have some.
