Guest guest
Rhonda, Not only CAN you but you definitely SHOULD be drinking your kefir. The main thing is to take it about 3 to 4 hours after you take your medicine. At that point, it's pretty much been absorbed and the kefir will not be affected. Drinking kefir while on antibiotics will definitely help avoid yeast secondary infections. Patty I started on Septra July 3rd after vaginal hysterectomy. > OOPS! > I actually started on Septra July 10th after the hysterectomy on the > 9th. > > Rhonda >

I itch now and have another 4 days of antibiotics to take. I think it was on another list that I read to lay off the kefir until *after* the round of antibiotics. But I can't remember why. But you're saying that as long as I give the Septra a few hours to do it's thing, then the kefir can still do it's magic and help with the yeast. I guess I should have gone with my gut (pun intended) feeling and as soon as I got home from the hospital got back on the kefir. Hopefully, it'll be strong enough to counter the die-off of the good bacteria. Makes you wonder about all these people who didn't have a strong gut to begin with. Thanks, Rhonda
