Guest guest
I contacted my good friend Malcolm in England to clear up the matter. He is a retired engineer. I hope this information helps clear up the matter and put minds at ease, especially Cy who wonders about a pint: Dear Harry, Let us keep it simple - an imperiasl gal;lon in round numbers as approximately 20% greater than a US gallon. In detail - an imperial is 4.56 litres and a US is 3.8 litres. I will not go into the business of US liquid and dry gallons. In UK we are still in the intermediate phase of changing from imperial to metric Gas is now priced and measured in litres. Milk is given in litres and pints but the measure is still in pints. wine has always been in milli litres Beer is in pints Dry goods are given in lbs and kilo grams - Hope this helps to confuse !!
