I recently saw a recipe for ranch dressing using sour cream and no

oil, but I can't remember where I saw it now or I'd give you the link :)

Must be my amalgams kicking in.

I'll have to try that. My fave is using raw cream in dressing instead of olive

oil (which I don't like anyway). It's so good. For a taco salad I use either

good sour cream or yogurt mixed with salsa.

Aha! moment - salad dressing replacement

I liked to use Miracle Whip in salads but can't because I hate the oils

they use so I had given up many of the salads I liked. Recently I

found a suitable homemade replacement - I made a carrot/raisin salad

and added plain yogurt, half a lemon's worth of juice and a scant

teaspoon of sugar. It was pretty much the same flavor as if I had used

Miracle Whip, but less oil(none). I'd guess this would be good in cole

slaw as well.

Dairy must be the secret!

I recently quit using mayo in tuna - same reason, the oils creep me

out - and now use Boursin cheese. Wow
