Guest guest
Recently I have been chatting with the beer guy at the Whole Foods across the street from where I live. We have been exchanging notes so to speak and he turned me on to a site called http://www.ratebeer.com. It is excellent! For all you beer lovers out there it should give you many hours of searching pleasure. I have also of late occasionally been drinking aged beers. I recently had a JW Lees Harvest Ale 1999 Limited Edition. Superb. Here is a review at the Beer Advocate: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/178/705/?ba=scruffwhor I also had Harviestoun _Ola Dubh_, which is beer age in oak casks previously used for Highland Park's 16 year old single malt scotch whiskey: http://www.harviestoun.com/OlaDubh/ They also have other years. It took some getting used too but I like them, and they are very filling, which means I can only drink one or two at the most, which is good for me :-) They are also spendy, so only good for an occasional indulgence, at least for me. Also drinking really well is DogFish Head's Immortal Ale. Also last night I had _La Grande Blanche_, which is a belgian imperial white ale and quite tasty. It comes in a 750ml bottle so it will serve more than one or last for a couple of days. -- There's nothing like visiting a foreign country like China to get an appreciation of what it's like to live under an authoritarian regime. I was reminded of this when I arrived home and found that the TSA had rifled through my baggage. - Tabarrok
