Guest guest
Shelby, I was a little different frrom most moms when was born. I just wanted information on what I could do for him. I didn't even know how to feed him because his muscle tone was so poor. He had trouble sucking. They will have to grieve but get them some info soon. It makes them feel empowered (IMHO). Guest guest
Shelby, I live in central Illinois and just received a phone call from a friend in my town who was looking for some words of inspiration/encouragement for a family whose 2nd child was just born with ds and who has " transient leukemia " . I mentioned this story to her and she " feels certain " that the story you tell must surely be her friend's new baby! If possible, e-mail me privately and we'll talk! My friend is very concerned for the new parents and would like to offer some support. Thanks, Jill Mom to (16 w/girlfriend & driver's license), Lydia (7) and Isaac (21 months) briggsj@... >Thursday September 7th a *big* boy (9 lb 10 oz) was born and named >. > >He is the second son of my husband's brother's wife's best friend (my SIL's >best friend). Guest guest
Rose arrived today, 07/21 at 6:14 AM EST. I didn't have any defineable contractions until my water broke at 3:30 AM EST this morning, although I was feeling under the weather all day yesterday. The car ride felt like a blink of an eye yet like an eternity - and she was delivered not even 5 minutes after we arrived at the birth center, while I was still standing up. What a debut! 7 lbs 9 oz 21 inches long 13.5 " head Our first attempt at breastfeeding went so well - she literally grabbed and put me in her mouth with no assistance from anyone. The midwives said they've never seen a baby do that as apparently most tend to push away the breast inadvertently instead of serving themselves. I'm already home, but exhausted and will likely be AFK for quite a while - just wanted to let y'all know she finally arrived. -Lana " There is nothing more useful than sun and salt. What a debut! Lana, that's great! I'm glad to hear that it went smoothly - a tribute to your good health. Though I have to say I've never heard of a stand-up delivery for babies I thought the traditional position was squatting? > Our first attempt at breastfeeding went so well - she literally > grabbed and put me in her mouth with no assistance from anyone. That certainly sounds like a good sign that you won't have any problems breastfeeding. > I'm already home, but exhausted and will likely be AFK for quite a > while - just wanted to let y'all know she finally arrived. Thanks for letting us know. Be sure and put some photos of the baby on Flickr, or start a blog
