Guest guest
Hi, Research has shown that Ehlers-Danlos involves a deficiency in the copper transport gene, and people who suffer from this often have deficiencies in copper. I also read that high-doses of ascorbic acid have been helpful in preliminary studies, although this is not standard procedure. Acutally, I thought that vitamin C might be good for anyone with this disorder, and considered giving my daughter 2 grams a day as a preventative until I thought it might interfere with her copper levels. Now I'm thinking about the coumadin, vitamin K, and vitamin D connection -- and I'm wondering if there's not a similar interaction with ascorbic acid, copper levels, and vascular disease and even connective tissue disease. Any thoughts on ways that nutrition might play a role, would be so welcome. Thanks!
