Guest guest
I think it depends on how you got fat to begin with. You might be able to get by with those that fit your situation. I mentioned iodine / kelp powder in the other thread because I had postpartum thyroid issues (had a node on my thyroid during the pregnancy) brought about by breastfeeding (breastmilk is high in iodine) and the ridicilously low seafood diet one eats during pregnancy and lactation these days (if not eating sea vegetables) in landlocked USA. I had always been a round in the right places size 12 or 14, but after my second child I was staying an 18 and the postpartum hair loss wasn't coming back in. Selenium affects the body's ability to activate and react to or receive the thyroid hormones. I got cold sores, selenium is antiviral. . . . they went away with the selenium supplementation and I have since learned that 50% of US soils are deficient, and I wasn't eating brazil nuts or mustard or enough fresh garlic - all selenium rich foods. I am definitely eating more than before I started those supplements, and only slightly higher fat and lower carb. I don't want to lose weight quickly and dump a big toxic load in the breastmilk. I own EFLF but have only gotten to glance through it briefly before loaning it out, so I can't recall the precise recommendations.
