Guest guest
I spread my drops out over the day.....few drops here, few there. Same with my iodine. When I tried to get it over with and take it all at once, I felt....not thirsty...more like one would with an astringent? I'm seldom thirsty, btw, so I may not be a good person to answer this. I just finished being thirsty after a battle with the flu two weeks ago and I was shocked to feel thirsty. It was a foreign feeling. I seldom drink water and...hmmm....had never really thought about this much, but I used to drink water all the time before following NT, and now I seldom crave it....hmmmm............... Guest guest
I'm the same way since following NT! I used to drink water all the time. Now I seldom crave it, which is nice. I don't always have to have water with me when I go somewhere. I think it's due to my high fat diet. > > > > > > It has come up in another group and someone said that it's in a form > > > that's inert so no need to worry. > > > > >

IIRC, the original recommendations regarding water involved the amount you got from food as well, not eight separate glasses of water. The breakdown of fat produces quite a bit of " metabolic " water. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metabolic_water -- Life is too short to wake up with regrets. Love the people who treat you right. Forget about the ones who don't. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy. They just promised it would be worth it.

Guest guest
Hi, Carolyn! Thanks for that!! If you are the same way, I'll quit worrying. It's the fats - you are so right. I had an extra slab of butter tonight in celebration. It is freeing, isn't it? All these years of NT and I'm just now putting that together. Wonder what other really good things I'm not noticing. When I think of ALL those years of no or low-fat. Awful!! Sharon On Sat, Aug 9, 2008 at 11:20 AM, carolyn_graff <zgraff@...> wrote: > I'm the same way since following NT! Guest guest
Thanks, !! When I was doing low or no fat, I could NEVER get enough water. I carried a glass of water with me everywhere, years before it was " in " to carry toxic bottles of water. LOL. I'd wake up parched, several times a night. Out of habit, I still place a fresh glass of water on my nightstand when I go to bed, but never wake up needing to drink it. Freedom!!! Guest guest
Yes, exactly. The adrenals help control hydration in the body- they rest atop the kidneys. So if your adrenals are fatigued, you will pee too much, and waste minerals. They are also encased in fat, fat nourishes them (I've read raw animal fat is touted for adrenal recovery) and they also concentrate vitamin C. As for electrolytes, remember Na+ and K- and fluid exchange across membranes? Who doesn't know someone who retains water after eating too much salt? I have experienced a similar reduction in thirst since discovering TF, even though I was never low-fat. I still get thirsty occaisionally, when my toddler changes nursing habits.
