Vitamin K2 question

To M. et al.,

From what I understand, vitamin K2 is synthesized by the intestinal flora. So,

a deficiency of

K2 might occur if one has compromised flora due to antibiotics and other factors

that

damage the gut flora.

Assuming one's gut flora is normal (which is probably not a safe assumption in

many

people's case), what other mechanisms could lead to deficiency?

If you could point me towards a helpful resource, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Chris
