I generally just smile and nod and ignore their advice, I refuse the drug

prescriptions, smile and nod again, then leave. But then my numbers have been

getting consistently getting better since I've been on a reversing Diabetes

diet. They especially don't want to hear how I'm doing it assuming they are

responsible, even though I use no drugs and they are doing absolutely nothing

for me. I'm going to a free clinic and only to get prescriptions for insulin,

needles, and test strips so I can get all that stuff for free.

My Dr. is wanting me to have a lipid panel done soon. but I do not want to

start getting hassled if the

results don't suit them.

What is everyone's experience? What might I see if I did it, since I've

been eating maybe 75% NT plus lowered carb with lots of butter, cream, etc.?

Should I refuse the testing? I told her there is no way I'd accept any

drugs, but if " bad " numbers were on record, could it become a problem?

Take care,

ly, I am going to be tested. I don't see why one would have

high cholesterol on a low carb NT diet, while avoiding frankenfats.

At least that's my theory. It is insulin that controls the laying

down of cholesterol so if your insulin is in control the numbers

should be reasonable...not that they matter, but it is interesting.

IMHO. Even if they come out highish you can consider it a baseline.

From everything I have read and heard about low carb, high fat diets cholesterol

levels are likely to go down.

I was tested last June, just after I went on grain free/sugar free

natural diet. I refused to go on drugs even though she prescribed them

and mailed them to me anyway (VA) The labs were repeated this month.

Total Cholesterol dropped from near 300 to around 150. HDL went from

30 to 51. LDL is still high at about 100, BUT, after all the

discussion about fewer " fluffy " large particles that don't oxidize, vs

lots of small particles that do, I figure I'm fine even though VA won't

do that particular test. The only fats I eat are coconut oil, butter

and once in a while olive oil. I eat nothing processed, so, if you are

really eating happy, your numbers should be just fine. Also, remember,

cholesterol is NOT the demon it's made out to be, all of this was based

on fraudulent reporting of research. Whether or not you get tested is

your choice, but if you are eating right, there's probably not a

problem.
