UNDP and SOMA have developed a module for HIV/AIDS planning at PRI level. A web portal – www.pri365.org with information on HIV/AIDS planning and essential linkages also have been initiated in this regard. 2. UNDP, SOMA and KILA have jointly organised one TOT for the faculty members and officials SACS and State institutes of rural development of Kerala, AP, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Pondicherry SACS on HIV/AIDS mainstreaming. This was initiated as part of UNDP institutional strengthening programme for mainstreaming HIV/AIDS. 3. With a view to understanding the possibility and feasibly of initiating HIV/AIDS programme planning at local body level, Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA) has recently completed an analytical research programme entitled “Analysing the capcity building needs of local government leaders on HIV/AIDS”. The study also looked into the knowledge, attitude and response level of elected representatives towards HIV/AIDS and related issues. The study was done in 6 local bodies (five Grama Panchayats and two Municipalities). The study has brought to light several positive signals and has highlighted the relevance of the intervention of local bodies in HIV/AIDS programme planning. The study was done with the financial support of RCSHA- New Delhi and SOMA-Kerala. The request for the copy of the report shall be sent to the following email IDs. somaindia@... rcsha@... cidsraj@...
