Guest guest
As for the Kenyan marathon runners, one of the traditional foods of Kenya is a fermented milk product similar to kefir, but without the grains. They ferment it in gourds. Guest guest
in my experience it depends on what i am trying to achieve. i've had some truly slacker miracles happen like receiving over $500 in a thrift store back (a short meditation on opening up to abundance), a job that i could get paid to sleep (now that's a big slacker miracle if there ever was one), my current apartment (just wrote down what i wanted--didn't even have to look for it), many of my relationships, a dehydrator (told my boyfriend i wanted one as a gift and 3 days later a tenant left one at the bottom of the stairs to get rid of), my current job which was very specific (the offer came without me mentioning anything right after i decided i wanted to do it)... and the list goes on. i used to think that you had to believe it was possible to get results, but my latest wish didn't work out that way. i brushed it off as impossible and got a call a couple weeks later with exactly what i needed. i have to say in general, it can be pretty damn effortless. i guess in that regard, i have absolutely no problem with " slacker mentality " . i will admit when it comes to personal growth and healing it can be different. when i wished to learn more about self confidence, i got a wicked staff infection on my face. some hard emotional work involved there for sure. that said, agreed: a person can't become a great painter if they don't learn the strokes, a book can never get your book published if it is not put in the mail, and yeah, a person will never get to be a superstar swimmer no matter how many times they dream it, if they never get into the pool. sabine. --- In , Seay <entheogens@...> wrote: > > I agree that the power of imagination is important. Guest guest
Well I did put it in my mind last year that I would get into a gallery and I did. It is in a one half horse town and he has no signage or web site but after I wished I could be in a better gallery, he landed a really great painter to be in the gallery, which will upgrade his place tremendously and I think it will go on from there. So yes, it depends. I still haven't won the lottery. Guest guest
An acquaintance of mine has a little parking ritual. When looking for a spot, she says, " Oh Asphalta full of grace, help us find a parking place! " The rule is, she has to take the first spot that turns up. But it always works, apparently. > > > that said, agreed: a person can't become a great painter if they don't > > learn the strokes, a book can never get your book published if it is > > not put in the mail, and yeah, a person will never get to be a > > superstar swimmer no matter how many times they dream it, if they > > never get into the pool. > Parashis > artpages@... > > portfolio pages: > http://www.flickr.com/photos/11468108@N08/ > > http://www.artpagesonline.com/EPportfolio/000portfolio.html >
Guest guest
I lived in Palo Alto in the 70s too. I was too little to be aware of Buffy Saint-Marie or Joan Baez's presence, though. My daycare once went for a photo shoot at Sunset. I have no idea if any photos of me were published. Guest guest
My old grade school (Ohlone) now has an " edible schoolyard " type program with vegetables, chickens and goats (I think). My mom sends me articles about it sometimes. > > > To 's point, at my Whole Foods here in Palo Alto, I sometimes > > see former SF 49ers quarterback Steve Young shopping. Wonder how long > > he has been eating this way? > >  > > As far as Powerlifters, I think it is primarily those in the > > SuperHeavy Unlimited Weight Class that eat huge amounts of junk. > >  > > I have said it before, and it bears repeating, I do amateur Olympic > > Style Weightlifting and the way I found out about Sally Fallon was > > through Poliquin, a rather famous trainer to many professional > > and olympic athletes. > >  > > I think there are more and more athletes that find it advantageous to > > eat healthy. > >  > > - > Parashis > artpagesearthlink (DOT) net > > portfolio pages: > http://www.flickr. com/photos/ 11468108@ N08/ > > http://www.artpages online.com/ EPportfolio/ 000portfolio. html > >

Guest guest
I've been following this thread and while watching the relay tonight, I was prompted to google the name of an olympic gold medalist from my hometown that I met when i was a teenager. Of the four in that gold winning relay, two of them were only in their fifties when they died. --- In , " sk12879 " <scott.kustes@...> wrote: > > It's important to realize that elite athleticism and health rarely go > hand-in-hand. Well now that we know he also enjoys marijuana in addition to an extremely high calorie diet, here is a great article on what Phelps should have said instead of apologizing for his marijuana use (warning: some bad language). http://www.theagitator.com/2009/02/01/a-letter-id-like-to-see-but-wont/ Enjoy (or hate) <weg> -- It doesn't matter how many people don't get it. What matters is how many people do. If you have a strong informed opinion, don't keep it to yourself. Try and help people and make the world a better place. If you strive to do anything remotely interesting, just expect a small percentage of the population to always find a way to take it personally. F*ck 'em.
