hey, i have recently started using a pretty good hot sauce, called

Nando's Peri-peri sauce. tastes wonderful, pretty spicy so beware all

you timid. the ingredient list is pretty OK and familiar save for the

very last entry: propylene glycol alginate.

i did some googling and learned that it is occasionally used in

anything from beer to dairy products. it aids in " gel-ing " things.

getting that creamy consistency i suppose. im sure its in this sauce

as a thickener, too (there is xanthan gum, too) but i am wondering if

any of you have opinions about this new ingredient. i havent come

across it any other hot sauces. thanks.
