I'd like to compile a list of reading materials and videos that tell

sobering stories. So, if there's anything that has really " spoken to

you " on about any subject that you think would be relevant to a lot of

people, toss it at me please! (religious material ok, too)

Mostly I'm after quickies (things people can watch or read in a few

minutes), but I definitely want good book and longer film references,

too.

Some examples:

" Sicko " documentary film,

http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_10711.cfm,

" The Town of Allopath " video off the Mercola website,

stories about what GMOs do, and corporate GMO patents, etc,

maybe even stuff about one-world-government prospects, and economics

The ideas presented can be speculative, but I'd like them to seem

reasonable as well.

Thank you, Everyone!

Well I happen to run a film series called " Films That Make You

Think! " , so here are my favorite ones (some are long, sorry!)

Absolute best video: " What I've Learned About U.S. Foreign Policy "

by Dorrell (the guy who does Arlington West every Sunday) - a

series of 15-20 minute separate segments (indepentant films in their

own rights) on issues from Luther King, Jr to the School of

the Americas to Panama.

Runners up: " The Corporation " , " Life and Debt " , " The Fluroide

Deception: an interview with Bryson " produced by

Connett

Books: " Seeds of Deception " by M. , " Lab 257 " by

Carrol, " One Straw Revolution " by Masanobu Fukoka,

and " Killing Hope " by Blum, " Addicted to War " comic book. My

all-time favorites that I think every American should see

are " Material World " by Menzel - a photoessay of how people

live all over the world; and " State of the World 2004 " by Worldwatch

that looked at what we are doing with our wealth and the costs to the

world and the environment (back when Ed was the editor).

That reading/viewing list should sober up any overly happy and

optimistic people!

You can look up the videos on YouTube and I'll send in another link

where you can see them in streaming video.

As far as quickies, try www.counterpunch.org or aljazeera in English

http://english.aljazeera.net which has much better world news than

BBC or even public radio.

I wonder if you get your computer monitored if you start reading

that, tho.
