Rho & NO

I've been reading the articles on your site and other resources on NO and Rho.

Leaving statins and cholesterol-lowering drugs aside, I gather than inflammation

activated

Rho, which strongly inhibits NO. Ox-LDL also inhibits NO, and initiates

inflammation (which

would again inhibit NO).

This is obviously a double-whammy against PUFAs, especially the pro-inflammatory

n-6

FAs.

I'm aware of other diet and lifestyle factors that lead to oxidative damage, but

are there any

particular factors that activate Rho? Would it be safe to assume that anything

that promotes

inflammation will activate Rho and inhibit NO, and thus increase the risk of

CHD?

Thanks,

Chris
