Below is a post from a bodybuilding forum. It occurred during an

intermittent fasting thread but I thought it best to chnage the title

and post it separately. Right or wrong it is pretty funny.

_________

We know that in the Roman Empire soldiers (and everybody for that

matter) normally ate only one HUGE meal per day (around 5 pm). And we

know from statues and paintings (like those found in Pompey) that

soldiers had killer physiques, very lean and very muscular. I always

thought it very strange how different their diet and lifestyle was

from the today's mainstream bodybuilding diet and they still looked so

fine.

And they would march for tens of kilometers a day, with most of it

done before having a meal.

Herodotus reports Persian soldiers eating once a day also. During

their march on Greece they would march throughout the day, come to a

settlement in the afternoon and have a large feast.

just had this hilarious image of them breaking march every 2 hours to

eat if they were " modern. "

Greek General:

" Alright boys, 300 of them we got. Now down your PWO Shake and get

your BCAA's in. Tonight its brown rice and tuna. Tomorrow morning oats

and Whey. "

Greek Soldier: " Sir, We have run out of oats, Sir. "

Greek General: " WHAT?? (Echoes through the mountains).

NO OATS????????? NOOO OAAAATSSSS??????

Boys. It was good knowing you. " (Shoots himself in the head)

Greek Soldier: " What a fool. We had Oatbran "

Greek Soldier #2: " Im on Keto, and we have NOOO EGGSSSS "

Greek Soldier #3: " F***. I just got diagnosed Lactose Intolerant "

Greek Soldier #4: " Tomorrow is my cheat day hee hee hee "

Greek Soldier #5: (posing)

Greek Soldier #6: " 3:59pm.... one more minute and its time for meal#4 "
