Guest guest
Well, they teach history to justify their actions. You hear a lot about Machiavelli in collegiate circles, but rarely much about Cyrus of Persia. Machiavelli's writing is the epitome of the " dog eat dog " model, while Cyrus (a very interesting person) was the model for a moral, conscientious leader - he was honest in his dealings even with the enemy, had mercy to the weak in his power, and did not use his power for self-serving purposes but for the greater good. Yet he was hugely successful and was " ruler of the world " during his life, with even the conquered people very enthusiastic about his rule. > >>> >> > >>> >> The more I read the Bible the more it stands out to me to judge the > >>> >> acts not the people; that's not our job.
