You probably already know they'll try to go the psychological counseling

route for stress-control, and also recommend a high-fiber diet, loading her

up on cereal, both of which are a waste of time, imo. One thing to

consider would be a stool sample for bile acid level since gallbladder and

liver issues often have to be evaluated. Has that been done?

My kids both went through a phase where they got too involved in

playing to bother with going to the bathroom until it was too late.

There's also the wiping issue - a lot of little kids go in the toilet

but don't wipe so the undies get soiled. Or it could be something to

do with going to the bathroom - some bad experience or something that

makes her not go until it's too late - like a scare from a loud

toilet that flushed while she was on it, or getting yelled at by

someone for a bathroom related thing.

If she's getting too much vitamin C or magnesium it can make you go

before you make it. Or too much iron - if she's sneaking into

children's chewable vitamins without your knowledge.

Hi,

I recommend lots of chicken broth. Also, you may want to consider

magnesium supplements. They've been the most gentle thing to get my

system moving. I'm not sure what the dosage would be, check with a doc

first.

is she taking any probiotics or does she eat lots of probiotic-rich foods? also,

increasing the

good fats in her diet could help.

Is the child eating a lot of fruit? I've heard some doctors saying now

if you're constipated not to give apples, but I've also heard the

pectin will help with both diarrhea and constipation.

Epsom salt in the bath can help as the body will absorb it through the

skin - it draws moisture into the bowel for soft stools and helps

prevent compaction.

Orange juice helps get some people going.

Also good exercise - walking, running, jumping, even playing squatted

down, like with cars or looking at bugs in the grass.
