Guest guest
i would probably feel insulted even if i was a christian posting something basic about bible teachings and discussing it more from a point of whether or not it is relevant or similarly experienced by people. although i guess if i were a religious person in the more american way of thinking, going to a church, working with a specific congregation, etc... etc... then i may not mind as much. that said, i was very excited about this group and for now rather disappointed in it, at least in the view of a moderator (from what i can gather it is/was a moderator imposing the title). i have been working a lot with the sally fallon book and am looking forward to doing more with it. as such i may stay, but it definitely feels heavy handed and like putting a scarlet letter on my head to have to remember to write in bold letters RELIGION if i ever am posting something, so i may opt for an ayurveda group or something else that is more embracing. perhaps the reason RELIGION is used so boldly in this group is the same reason i myself don't like the tag, that many of us have been abused in the name of religion in this country and been encouraged not to think our own thoughts or see things that may fit outside the boxes socially within our various religious congregations. i will likely remove myself from regular mailings and use the group as reference and see if i decide that i want to contribute further. perhaps my views and explorations of idlis, dosas, and uttapam will be more appreciated among the ayurveda/hindu crowd anyhow. not sure they will appreciate the explorations in fermented foods. i have appreciated knowing in the group that at least some were interested and had similar experiences, even with the scarlet lettering of my posts. i would probably feel less insulted if religion were not in all caps. for now i will likely remain in the group and just watch the postings and perhaps from time to time contribute and seek out other groups who may appreciate my contributions more. -d --------------------------------- Never miss a thing.
