Guest guest
i have lauricidin, it is supposed to be a good anti viral. havent used it much though cause my son is taking soooooo much now. trying to find a " spot " to fit it in. my son was on prescribed anti fungals and anti virals for three years with only little improvement. he is a tough nut! however, what i have read about lauricidin and what my dan docs have said, sounds like a good product and that is why i bought it. vicki

Now that my son's fat absorption issue is resolved, I have given it a little here and there, and it works very well, just like the OLE. It does also cause yeast [even tho it is supposed to be anti-fungal also] so I have to give it with GSE. Dana
Guest guest
Hi , I use lauricidin. I think like many of the natural antivirals the dosing isn't so much by weight as by your child's reaction. I've heard of kids reacting to one pellet. So, I would start slowly and work up. Just as a reference though, my son, who did start slowly on it, weighs 34 pounds and is taking 3 full scoops a day. The site does claim that Lauricidin can help with bowel function, and it is supposed to deal with measles. If this is true, then I would think that would do a great deal of good for many of our kids digestive tracks. On another note: my son too became constipated because of the OLE. It's sad, isn't it, because OLE is such a great supplement. Anita > > Going to try lauricidin for the first time. I started my son with 1 pellet per day, and eventually worked up to two scoops 3x per day. It caused MASSIVE yeast, more than I could control, no matter what dose. OLE and Virastop worked much better for my kids tho. Dana
Guest guest
hi, I USE TWO SCOOPS PER DAY, ONE IN THE MORNING AND ONE IN THE AFTERNOON. HIS YEAST IS UNDER CONTROL AND NO SIDE EFFECTS... MY SON IS 16YRS. OLD AND WEIGHS 200 LBS... SO THE DOSAGE MIGHT BE LESS FOR A SMALLER CHILD.... I WOULD CONTACT THE LAURICIDIN WEBSITE AND ASK SPECIFICALLY FOR YOUR CHILD''S WEIGHT... I HOPE THIS HELPS... CORINNE [ ] Re: Lauricidin > > Going to try lauricidin for the first time. For those of you using it > where did you start for dose and where did you end up? HIS YEAST IS UNDER CONTROL AND NO SIDE EFFECTS. FWIW we cook with coconut oil and have found that to be very helpful... we also seem to get fewer and less severe colds. Lauricidin is iirc made of 1/2 lauric acid and 1/2 glycerin. It is a man made product. Coconut oil is natural and 1/2 lauric acid, 1/2 whatever other fats etc... nature put into the coconut. And it's very good for cooking. Guest guest
i always have to go low and slow with my tough nut. so, im on only 1 scoop per day. also use OLE and cumanda. all this anti viral stuff causes lots of yeast for my son. had to bump up the yeast protocol. i plan on starting virastop one day too vicki corinnevela <corinnevela@...> wrote: hi, I USE TWO SCOOPS PER DAY, ONE IN THE MORNING AND ONE IN THE AFTERNOON. Guest guest
Hi Judy! Very interested in LAURICIDIN! Keep us posted! Will do some research as well. Thanks for the info. Then, he introducted " Lauricidin " which he is using with many of his patients now and has had good results. He explained it all and of course, at home, I did my own research on the interent. Lauricidin is not a drug but a dietary supplement and has anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties in it. It's itsy-bitsy white pellets which is taken w/water with or without food. Anyway, I began two days ago, and will see if I feel a difference. Anyone in the group taking it or have heard of it? I hadn't till I spoke w/him. His rule for Vit D is " labor day thru memorial Day " supplement, and the other mths regular sunlight. We're here in Mi so I'm sure it depends on what state you're in....can get very dreary here in the winter but summer very sunny. To everyone's health!! Guest guest
Wow! This is very interesting since this comes from coconut oil and I have just been reading about coconut oil as antibiotic use. We started using coconut oil in the last couple of months for cooking, etc. and are very happy with it... now wondering about using more of it..... Anyway, just wanted to say please keep us posted..... Rhea > > Hi everyone, > first of all, , I had my app't w/Dr. Brownstein 2 days ago. Guest guest
Will do! I plan to begin Monday with a daily regiment of " oil pulling " . Coconut was also mentioned along with sesame oil as the two preferred oils to use. Yes, it IS interesting. Guest guest
http://www.lauricidin.com/lauricidin_coconut.asp Not sure if the above article is just trying to sell their product or if there is truth to waht they are saying. I was going to use oilve oil as I have some and buy coconut, seseame or sunflower oil later, once I found out what is best to us. But according to what they say Lauricidin is the only way to go. Not sure what to believe. Certainly cheaper to buy the oil. I cant tell from their web site how long a jar even lasts. Judkeels@... wrote: Will do! They taste nasty. Watch for yeast overgrowth. Lauricidin caused a lot of yeast here. Dana
Guest guest
Hello Group, A friend just told me about a supplement called Lauricidin and it sounds very promising. http://www.lauricidin.com It has helped her family a lot. Do any of you take it and are your experiences very positive like the testimonials I have read on that site? I feel a little cheated after reading about this. In my research of coconut oil I have always read that VCO has antimicrobial and antiviral properties because of its high lauric acid content. That is apparently true only if the lauric acid is broken down correctly, which only happens to a tiny extent in the human body (according to the doctor who did the research and developed lauricidin). The following is from http://www.lauricidin.com/lauricidin_coconut.asp " Dr. Kabara's research showed that in order to have antimicrobial and immune-boosting properties, the fat in coconut oil and mother's milk has to be broken down into free fatty acids and monoglycerides BEFORE you digest them. *THE FATS IN COCONUT OIL AND MOTHER’S MILK ARE PER SE NOT ANTIMICROBIAL* When babies get mother's milk, the milk contains an enzyme that breaks down the fat into free fatty acids and monoglycerides prior to infant digestion. Coconut oil does not contain this enzyme and therefore little if any monoglycerides are absorbed as such into the body. Current data shows that if your body does convert virgin coconut oil (VCNO) into monolaurin, you might get less than 1% monolaurin. " I just don't really know if this quote above makes sense to me. Why would the lauric acid have to be broken down into its parts BEFORE it is digested to get the benefit? Isn't that the point of digestion - to make the components available for absorption? The coconut oil may be lacking the enzyme, but do our digestive tracts lack it? That's what the quote seems to say. If the enzyme is in mother's milk why don't we have enough in our bodies? Which enzyme is it? Any expert thoughts out there? I'm sure there's lots of studies I could scour the internet for, but finding the time is such an issue... I am excited to try this since I have such a hard time taking coconut oil as a supplement. Coconut oil started out being yummy, but now it is to the point where I can barely choke it down hidden in a smoothie. I've gagged on the oiliness too many times and now I react even to the smell of it. So sad since it used to smell so good to me. I also never noticed an increase in energy from taking it or much immune support if I took a lot while I was sick. I figured it was just because I couldn't take enough of it for a consistent amount of time to see benefits. But maybe it was just because the amount of monolaurin I ended up with was insignificant. Just thought others might be interested in this as well (assuming I'm not the only one who doesn't know about this... ) Thanks, B.
Guest guest
Hello, Yes I have, it caused major constipation for me. I think you are better off with your standard VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil). Lauricedin or monolaurin is supposedly the " active " ingredient in VCO which helps kill lipid coated viruses. I didn't have any luck with it and it just backed me up. Instead, each morning I blend together water, yogurt, 1 tbsp. freshly ground flax seeds, and 1 tbsp. of VCO, Olive, or Flax oil and drink with a few calcium pills. Sometimes I also add a spoonful of cottage chees. This is supposed to help oxygenate the body and get the necessary Omega-3 oils to the cells.
