Guest guest
I have recently seen some US Made, Lead Free Stoneware on a website that already carries a teaching DVD on how to make the basics of Kefir, Whey and other fermented and nutrient dense foods advocated by Nourishing Traditions. You can also buy Excalibur dehydrators there along with some other great items! http://www.traditionalcook.com/products.shtml

Guest guest
this article only explains how glaze can contain lead (unless i missed something). i meant to ask...does some unglazed stoneware contain lead? > > > > does some stoneware contain lead? > > >

Some clays contain lead or any number of other heavy metals. While I haven't bought any Pampered Chef items, they make a point of stating all their unglazed lead items are from lead-free clay. Foreign clay can contain unhealthy levels of lead, so again, every item needs to be verified as to safety. HTH. Sharon
Guest guest
Correction: I meant to say " Pampered Chef items make a point of stating all their unglazed *clay *items are made from lead-free clay. " Hope that clears it up because stating it the other way was just plain goofy. LOL. (Thanks Carolyn for bringing this brain-slip to my attention!!!)
