RE: quarterly drawing

Seems like what you're trying to do is incentivize patients to follow

through with the four points in your post. I'm not sure the " chance at

a TV or ipod " will trump the patient's reason if/when they consider

skipping an appointment or not paying a co-pay. While it's a good

idea, put yourself in the patient's shoes to consider if it will

really work.

In the end, you may be paying for the TV's/ipods/marketing/etc. while

at the same time, I'm not convinced you'll see the reductions in

no-shows, problems with A/R, etc.

Instead of prizes, might I suggest an automated call-reminder system

to reduce your no-show rate? There's also been a lot of discussion on

this board regarding the pros/cons of a charge for no-shows - you can

search within this board for those discussions.

And, there are many ways to make sure you're collecting the co-pays,

but we'd need more information regarding your circumstances.

Just my thoughts-

Personally, I feel the patients that would " successfully complete their therapy "

are the ones you aren't going to have any problems with anyway. Considering the

fact that insurance reimbursement is already below standards, why would you want

to create an extra expense for yourself.

Subject: quarterly drawing

Hi group,

Something we would like feedback on.

I was thinking, maybe we can create a quarterly drawing for patients who

successfully complete their therapy with the possibility of winning a tv, ipod

etc if they complete the following:

1. attend all scheduled appointments.

2. do not cancel, reschedule or no show for any of their appointments.

3. successfully complete all appointments as directed by their therapists.

4. made all applicable payments, deductibles, co payments and coinsurance

payments

then their names would be put into a drawing for that quarter. the drawing will

take place on the first Monday after the quarter. the winner will be notified by

phone call and letter to pick up their gift within 5 business days, otherwise

the gift will be used for the next quarter drawing.

let me know what you think.
