JOB TITLE: STATE DIRECTOR

BACKGROUND:

Inviting applications from women candidates for the post of State

Director, Karnataka for a national level not-for-profit organization working in

the area of HIV AIDS. The organization seeks to develop coordinated campaigns to

address the spread of HIV/AIDS and reduce stigma and discrimination by

influencing public perception and policy through two platforms: mass media and

advocacy.

The Project seeks to advocate with the Indian government to strengthen existing

methods of information distribution; and create a range of audio-visual, online

and print materials to complement advocacy and media initiatives so that the

public is connected to important HIV/AIDS related services.

The incumbent will be engaged in three significant activities:

1. Media advocacy and partnership building initiatives

2. HIV/ AIDS advocacy with a cross section of Societal leaders, and

with Business Communities in the state of Karnataka

3. Road shows

EXPERIENCE. Must Have:

• At least 8-10 years of experience in media/corporate sector, with

knowledge and exposure in communication/business management functions.

• Excellent skills in public private partnership with multiple

stakeholders for e.g. media, corporates, NGOs.

• Highly creative in the development of ideas/solutions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Entreprenual in his/her ability to developing and implementing

programmes.

Preferable:

• Knowledge and understanding of HIV AIDS.

• Ability to speak and comprehend Kannada.
