Guest guest
In NT, Sally mentions soaking grains with apple cider vinegar if you have problems with whey but I don't recall her mentioning ACV as a soaking option with Quinoa. Is ACV an acceptable soaking companion with quinoa? Does anyone know?
Guest guest
The oils on quinoa contain bitter saponins; I don't recall that the seed contains lots of phytates. I usually do a warm water soak to loosen the oils from the surface of the seed, and then I drizzle warm water in from the faucet to gently rinse the oils off the top of the soak water and over the side of the bowl. I do this a few times throughout the day. Because vinegar cuts fatty acids, I'm sure that ACV will work better than whey in the regard of soaking off the quinoa oils- I just don't do it because I don't always want that acv taste, and have time for the other. Quinoa pilaf rules! Desh ____________________________________________________________ Save on Emergency Alert Systems.
