Guest guest
This is what I needed! I've tried a few of the breathing technics, it wasn't so easy for me. What I remember was deep breathing using the rib cage. I still breath this way. But now I find most people will tell me that I should be breathing??with my stomach as a new born baby breathes. I can't do it although I've tried. Thanks for the sight, I'll be practicing more. Barbara ________________________________________________________________________ More new features than ever. Guest guest
Off the food topic for a moment - recently, I stumbled across information about breathing using the fruits of Buteyko's research. This is from the work of a Ukrainian doctor, which was brought to Australia and has gained some popularity there and in New Zealand. It is most dramatically effective among asthmatics. I haven't bought any educational materials, but I have started employing some of the suggestions. One is relatively shallow nose-breathing, with a longer exhale than inhale. Another is ensuring that I sleep on my side, with enough pillows to make this comfortable. I may have stopped snoring altogether as a result of this. Sleeping on my side makes it easier for me to keep my mouth closed while I sleep. I'm also taking time throughout the day to re-train my breathing. I inhale slowly and exhale even more slowly. I do a count of three after the inhale, and then a count of three for the exhale. It's helping me feel more relaxed to nose-breathe all of the time, especially after exercising. I've adjusted my running to where I can breathe through my nose comfortably. Has anyone else worked with breathing to improve their health? I'd been exposed to this through yoga, but I didn't put it all together until I read some things about Buteyko.

" He also learned it in Russia. CST talks about how breathing integrates with movement and structure - change one, you change the others. Which explains about how posture improves with changing breathing. There's a ton of info buried in his forums and back issues of newsletter. Also a couple of DVDs - One is " Be Breathed " and another is Reset. Also FlowFit gets into breathing somewhat. Biggest eye-opener for me was to exhale on effort, usually, because our cultural habit is to inhale and hold on effort, which dominates over time and leads to all kinds of side effects. Guest guest
you must write for which disease you take yhe ldn > > > > Last night I was singing, and I noticed that my breathing was a lot stronger. This is day 3 of ldn, but, I did not have breathing problems before taking ldn (at least none that I knew of). Is this something I should ascrible to the medication? I've also been following a low carb diet for the past few weeks so I'm not sure which is more likely to be causing this.Jill >
