Thanks,

I saw the Q-gel symbol on the Country Life--that is how I found it. I think

I will check out Walgreens and the Sundown.

Hello,

I just got back from Walgreens where they had their Sundown brand CoQ on

sale, buy one get one free. This was both 75 and 100 mg softgels.

Expanding on this, I just bought CoQ10 Q-gel (the kind made by Tishon corp

that is more absorbable). I bought it from a local health store under the

brand name Country Life. I did check and they seem to be the same as what I

got from Tishon directly.

Not as good a deal as I got from Puritans Pride for the 15 mg on there big

sale, but these were 50 30 mg for $29.95 with buy one bottle get one free.

Unfortunately, I contacted Country Life and got the names of 3 stores in

the area. Only one carried the buy one get one free offer.

The sundown brand seems to work for me also.

Janet

Sundown carries the Q-gel also. You have to look closely on the labels to

make sure it says that it is made by Tishcon. I use this if I don't get my

bottles of 1000 ordered in time.

Laurie,

How do you get 1000 tablets at one time? How much does it cost and where do you get your supply? Also could you please tell me in what ways does CoQ-10, help those with mito deseases? I have MERRF. Thanks for the info.

Thankful,

I get the 1000 gel caps (60 mg) directly from Tishcon, the maker of the Q-gel. Most people can take less of this because it is more bioavailable. It does cost $375, but when figured out it is much less. The same product, bought in the store (under Sundown brand) cost $33.00 for 30 of them.

The phone number is 1-. If you order from them, tell them you are a mito patient. I get the Q-gel Ultra which also includes Vit. E. You might want to try the product under the Sundown label (be sure the same print on the back says Tishcon) or order a small bottle directly from Tishcon. A few people don't do well with this, so you might be better trying it first.

You might want to do some web searches on mito and CoQ10, but this is what I know about it. CoQ10 is part of the respiratory chain that produces our cellular energy. Since this doesn't work well, giving extra hopefully will jump start the energy process. Also, CoQ is a powerful anti-oxidant. Since the malfunctioning mitochondria produce lots of free-radicals which then damage more mitochondria, taking anti-oxidants is a protection from some of this additional damage.

The biggest advantage for me has been that my mito has been fairly stable since starting on it and my dysmotility issues are gone. I have not seen actual improvement but maintaining the level of functioning has been a real positive thing for me.

I'm not sure who this message is to or is a general question to everyone?
